Session 1: “Sky & Light” - Paint a sunrise or sunset with simple shapes and colors

In this immersive acrylic painting class, students will explore how landscapes reflect the majesty, order, and beauty of God’s creation. Through guided instruction, participants will complete a finished (or near-finished) landscape painting while learning essential design principles, such as composition, perspective, color harmony, atmospheric depth, balance, unity, texture, and brush techniques. (Ages 12 and up)

The Principles of Art and Design: Part III is a 2.5 hour class that will teach you about the importance of composition in art and design.

This 1.5 hour art therapy session offers you space to process your thoughts and feelings through creative and therapeutic visual art practices. Previous art experience is not required.

The Principles of Art and Design: Part II is a 2.5 hour class that will teach you about the wonderful world of color! Here you will explore and practice color theory, work with different color palettes, and understand the importance of color temperature.

The Principles of Art and Design: Part I is a 2.5 hour class that will teach you the fundamental elements of art and design, such as: line, shape, form, space, and pattern.

Dive into the world of gouache paints! In this 2.5 hour class, you will learn the key aspects of gouache, including painting surfaces, tools, materials, color mixing, techniques, and so much more!

Dive into the world of watercolor paints! In this 2.5 hour beginner class, you will learn watercolor basics (paints, brushes, surfaces) and beginner techniques such as watercolor mixing, value and form, brushstrokes, applying paint, and creating effects.

Dive into the world of acrylic paints! In this 2.5 hour beginner class, you will learn acrylic basics (paints, tools, surfaces) and beginner techniques such as acrylic color mixing and color palettes, drawing with acrylics, tints/tones/shades, aerial perspective and much more!

Want to learn painting basics but don’t know where to begin? If so, then “Introduction to Painting 101” is a great place to start. In this 2.5 hour class you will be introduced to the four primary fine art painting mediums: Acrylic, Oil, Watercolor, and Gouache. You will learn and explore each medium including the tools, surfaces, and techniques used with each medium. Find out which one you like best!
